St Luke's Pewter Plate Presentation

St. Lukes Pewter Plate

The Haslar Freemasons Lodge of Gosport kindly donated a pewter offertory plate crested with the Mason’s crest and the Bull of St Luke in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of St Luke’s Haslar and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Haslar Lodge. The Haslar lodge was founded by Sir Cecil Pembrey Grey Wakeley, 1st Baronet KBE CB (5 May 1892 – 5 June 1979) who joined the Royal Navy in WWI as a young surgeon and served at Haslar and in later years was a surgical advisor to the Royal Navy.

The plate was blessed and handed over to St Luke’s (Haslar Heritage) at the annual Carol service held on the 13th December 2012.

The Haslar Lodge has also made a generous financial presentation to St Luke’s which enabled the installation of a sound system and ‘T’ Loop for the use of those who have hearing loss and wear hearing support devices.
